About
I’m an experienced equine dentist based in the Scottish Borders, covering all over the UK, I travel all over the country and to other as I have done work in Singapore, Taiwan, Philippines, Ireland and Indonesia. I work with a wide variety of horses and ponies, from family and leisure horses through to competition horses. I would like to say I specialize in thoroughbreds in the racing industry as this is a strong interest of mines. But I love treating all varieties of horse and ponies.
I take a calm and patient approach to dental care and am particularly happy working with young, nervous or apprehensive horses. I believe it’s important to take the time to understand each horse and to explain any findings or treatment to the owner.
I’ve been working in equine dentistry for 11 years and hold Category 2 Advanced Dental qualification and Cat 1 dentistry qualifications. I particularly enjoy hearing and seeing improvements with how the horse will ride or even eat and welfare of the animals after treatment. I do also get great satisfaction when a client who I treat has winners or is a winner in whatever field of competition they take part. I like to know I have done the best job possible so that horse and rider can do the best job they are possible to do whatever the circumstance.
